What Were You For Halloween?

Nobody knew what I was doing. Even K-Man was nonplussed, “Dad, the Green Goblin doesn’t have a green face!” Worse is that he said it with a tone that left the final word known, but unsaid, “dumbass.”

Balance? What Balance?

Seems to me that in order to find balance we have to stop trying so hard to achieve it. We have to stop thinking of balance as something that happens always. Instead, we have to start thinking about balance as something that happens on average.

It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint

And, just like with the running thing – a person who runs six or seven (even eight or nine) minute miles isn’t going to like running with me. Parents who consistently put their kids in time-out may not like my parenting styles. But, is one better than the other? Who knows?

Sixteen…Biscuits?

We had forgotten his birthday and the poor guy was living his own K-9 version of “Sixteen Candles.” Lest you think I’m kidding, as soon as I remembered and wished him a “Happy Birthday, H!,” he immediately perked back up. He was merely channeling his inner Samantha Baker.

More Important Than How You Play

My calve seized. Hard. It was as if Ironman himself wrapped both of his hands around my calf and squeezed. It sucked. I was as far from my house as I could get. I didn’t have any money. I didn’t have my cell. It was 6:30 AM.
