I’m the first to admit that there are times (perhaps even MORE than I’d like to admit) when K-Man is playing at the park (or wherever) that I’ll pull out the trusty iPhone and see what else is going on in the world. (And, by “going on in the world,” I, of course, mean on Facebook.) That said, this weekend, we took the kid to LEGO Land – and I couldn’t help but realize just how silly we (parents) look when our kids are playing and we can’t find the time to put down our damn phones. I saw these dads and realized that maybe I need to be more aware of my own (dis)engagement.
They say that kids grow up fast, and if you blink, you miss it. Maybe, though, that’s because we’re not paying enough attention in the first place. Just saying.
